Dolly-Parton

Born on Jan. 19th of 1946 Locust Ridge Tenn into a low-income family that would ultimately include 12 children Dolly Parton learned early to escape the hardships of living through her vibrant and expansive imagination. Before she learned to write and read, Dolly Parton was creating her own music. Within 8 years she had her very first guitar. In the age of 11 she started singing at the Knoxville Tennessee radio station. Gold Band Records is a tiny, independent label. In high school she established herself local, but longed for a larger stage. After she finished her high school, in 1964, she relocated to Nashville. Her first charting records on Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated TV show host in the late '60s, was looking for a girl to sing on his show. Parton was a part of the Grand Ole Opry 1969 after having signed to RCA Records. Then, in 1974, she left The Wagoner's Show due to the popularity of her own songs such as Joshua Coats Of Many Colors or Jolene was outstripping their joint releases. Parton wrote "I Will Always Love You" to Wagoner shortly after they separated. The song was ranked No. The first time it reached No. 1 was 1974.
